Happy April Fool's day! I've been seeing patterns in my head lately. . . so I decided to challenge myself to create 10 — count 'em, 10 — fabric designs to add to my portfolio. To assist in that goal, I'm going to start doing some of the theme contests on
Spoonflower, the custom fabric website. Coincidentally, just as I was mulling over this concept of mid-century air travel, I noticed that this week's contest was flying machines. Perfect.
Long and hard I worked, struggling to figure out a repeat on this one, and finished
just under the wire for the entry deadline last night. Whew.

There was a plan to include one of the old-style airline meals, but it was getting jam-packed...

Totally fun. I have been following the spoonflower contests. This has a darn good chance! Good luck. xox
oh this is going to be awesome! Can't wait to see everything you come up with. Spoonflower is located 20 minutes from me. I was at an artist event a year ago and got little samples of their printed fabrics. All of them were high quality. Very nice people.
Thank you, Corrine and Christa! That's so cool that you visited spoonflower. What a great idea their business is. I wish I could sew — there are so many things you could do with this resource.
