"Sew What?"

Here's a little design I did for the current Spoonflower Design Challenge. The theme is a limited color palette on the subject of sewing, using the new PMS color of the year, called "Greenery". You can vote for your favorites here. Of course, there had to be a cat in mine. Happy New Year!

A man and his Gerbils

Here's another in the Creatures of the Night series: "All-Nighter". I believe this is number 9. Studying late into the night, kept company only by his pet gerbils.

Creatures of the Night, Day 8: "To Roost"

Though October has come and gone, my "Creatures of the Night" challenge lives on. Here's one I never posted. This works out pretty well for December, as it happens. A wolf, a raccoon, and a murder of crows come to roost.

Creatures of the Night, Day 1

Last year during the month of October, I did a daily sketchbook featuring a black cat a day. It was a lot of work, but really fun. So this year I'll attempt a new theme: "Creatures of the night." Wish me luck!

Get thee back to school, young'un

Wow, I've really fallen down on the job of painting in my journal, and I've missed it so much! Well, anyhoo, summer is almost gone, so here's to a productive fall for all of us.

Back to school with ya, young wolves.

Go, monkey, go

Remember the children's book "Go, Dog, Go!"? It was in the back of my mind when I did this pattern for this week's spoon flower design challenge. How I used to stare at the spread where all the dogs arrived at the big tree and were hanging out in its canopy. There are a lot of really great designs in the contest this week. The theme is "Year of the Monkey". You can see them all and vote for your favorites here.

Get groovy

My first completed piece of 2016. Here's a new fabric design for spoonflower. The theme is Rock & Roll. I'm temporarily calling this rock junkie. Don't ask me why. You can see all of the entries in the weekly challenge here, and vote for your favorites!
